Trupiano's Italian Restaurant
Reviews
Have you seen the newly remodeled Trupiano's? You should stop by for a really excellent gourmet Italian dinner presented beautifully by attentive staff in a relaxing atmosphere. It is the best Italian food I've ever tasted - even better than my Italian grandmother's cooking. The house wine is excellent also, and the desserts, especially the Tiramisu and the Nutello Crepes are to die for. Once you try it, you will become a regular (we've been eating there for 15 years or so starting when it the father's place -Dominic's). Now the food has only gotten better.
You would think for such a small restaurant, the wait staff would have been completely attentive to the tables they take. Unfortunately, it was a miserable failure. We have to wait 10 minutes just for our server to come over and ask what we wanted to drink. It took anoth 10 minutes to get the drinks and bread. The water was empty numerous times and took a while to be refilled. Now I'm not a basher, I was a server for about 5 years in my younger days. The food is decent, but the service really killed it for me. If anything, I will be getting take out orders from now on.
This use to be a great restaurant but with the new ownership, the quality and service has gone down however, they had no problem increasing the prices!
Trupiano's Italian Restaurant is not your typical Strip mall restaurant. The decor is a blend of old rustic Tuscany and new Art Deco. The Service is attentive and professional. The food comes out hot and beautifully presented. Trupiano's has a vast variety of appetizers, pasta, fresh fish, veal and chicken. The pizza is award winning, accolades include: best restaurant and twice Pizza Festiva winners, an international pizza contest held in Las Vegas. The Trupiano family started in the early 70's on the Northwest side of Chicago.
