Geico? Imported swords made in Taiwan? Random junk from everywhere but Oceanside? If these things turn you on make sure you don't miss this annual event.

It's like a semi-upscale swap meet with pretty good cheesesteak thrown in.

Once again the chamber of commerce has demonstrated that the trivial amount of money they make on selling vendor permits to one and all more than overshadows any silly notion of class.

I used to go to the "Harbor Days" festival. It seems that the City tries to have the festival in direct conflict with the Thunderboat Regatta in San Diego. This means that the people that have an interest in boating have to make a choice.(How much stupider can the City be?) Either go to the Regatta in Mission Bay or go to the "local festival."

Just think if they had the "Harbor Days" on another weekend. ANY OTHER WEEKEND! They might just pull more people from the Thunderboat races. Imagine that.
This is a "posterchild" for what is precisely wrong with the City Council. They have the perfect opportunity to pull in a lot of people and they have it with a conflict with a "like event" in a major market 35 miles away. DUH!

...and then they have the audacity to say,"Our numbers are down for the 23rd consecutive year." Wonder why... roll

Wait! I think I've figured it out! The City has such a large EGO, that they feel they'll do "just fine" splitting the pool of people that have an interest in this!

Foolish, simple shameful.

(They used to have their Airport open house on the same weekend as the "Blue Angels" Show @ Miramar...)

The City of Oceanside isn't interested in business success. Their actions prove that. roll
