 The San Luis Rey MissionIf you want to take a break from Oceanside’s beaches for awhile travel a little inland to visit the San Luis Rey Mission, a late 18th century mission which offers guided informational tours and quiet paths through the sunken gardens. The mission is still functional and offers weekend mass.

 Oceanside HarborHundreds of colorful boats of all shapes and sizes bob up and down in the placid waters of the Oceanside Harbor. Like a tiny seacoast village all its own, the Oceanside Harbor features many small shops and restaurants as well as a variety of boat rentals, dinner cruises, deep sea fishing expeditions, and more. The Harbor beach also offers firepits.

 California Surf MuseumThe California Surf Museum serves as an international repository and resource center on the lifestyle sport of surfing through capturing, preserving, and chronicling its art, culture and heritage for the education and enjoyment of future generations.

 Oceanside Museum of ArtWith exhibitions featuring both local and international artists, the Oceanside Museum of Art is housed in a class building designed by Irving Gill in the 1930s. OMA also offers art instruction, chamber music, bus tours to other Southern California art museums, and various lectures and workshops.
