Welcome to Oceanside

Covering 41 square miles of southern California real estate, Oceanside is located in North San Diego County and offers many of the attractions of our more famous southern neighbor but in a much more relaxed and small-town environment. Oceanside is located on Pacific Coast Highway, variously known as Hwy 101 or Coast highway. The 76 and 78 freeways run west-east from Oceanside to inland and the 5 freeway runs north-south through Oceanside.

Beaches & Watersports

With 3.5 miles of sandy Pacific coastline and a climate voted the 2nd best in the nation, Oceanside is a popular destination for visitors from all over the globe looking for a sun, sand, and surf experience. Oceanside beaches feature fire rings, barbecue pits, volleyball nets, and showers. Various ocean activities can also be found at the Oceanside Harbor, including jetski rentals, whale watching tours, and fishing excursions.

Other Attractions

Away from the coast Oceanside features other activities and siteseeing opportunities like the Mission at San Luis Rey, the California Surf Museum, and Heritage Village. Oceanside also has 30+ parks and several golf courses throughout the city.

Places to stay/Transportation

In addition to the many hotels and motels located in both coastal and inland Oceanside, lodging may also be found at local vacation rentals, privately owned timeshares, RV parks, and campgrounds - you can even camp overnight in the Harbor Beach area. The closest airports to Oceanside are Palomar Airport and San Diego International Airport, both of which can be reached by shuttle. The Oceanside Transit Center provides endpoints to the Coaster, Amtrak, Greyhound, and the Oceanside Breeze (local bus service).
